This first semester has been an absolute pleasure to be a part of with the restructuring going much better than anyone could have hoped for. A lot of effort was put in by the committee last year to make this a possibility and it is great to see that this hard work has paid off. Every member of the committee has done an exemplary job so far with the club in as good a state as I have ever seen it.
Our financial situation is very stable, helped by our 2018-2019 sponsors Professional Employers Private Limited (PEOPLE) and Plain Language Commission, giving us a great foundation to build and perform on. Our Men’s and Women’s squad have already excelled in their indoor tournaments, and our new, streamlined, training structure going into semester 2 provides much optimism for success when we head outdoors.
I am extremely proud of the charitable work our club has achieved this semester, as explained in detail by Shez, with many more exciting ventures coming in the future. The club is as united as ever on all fronts making this an extremely satisfying club to be a leader of.
I hope to end the next semester on a high with the club achieving the success it can and deserves after all of the hard work put in by all this year. We can be proud of the foundations we’ve laid this year, with the merger and charitable work of special note, and make a success of this season on, as well as off, the cricket pitch.
